*UPDATED IMPORTANT!!! THERE HAS BEEN A MISUNDERSTANDING AND I HAVE BEEN INFORMED THAT THIS PICTURE IS BEING USED IN NON-COMMERCIAL USE!SO IF I USED ANY OF YOUR BRUSHES, YOU ARE BEING PROPERLY CREATED AND I AM NOT VIOLATING TERMS OF USE!!! :phew: I asked my drama teacher about this and she told me that we're not using it for commercial use :D I should've asked before I posted this :XD: END OF UPDATED*

No, not the movie, not the horrid musical, not a 2010 remake movie. My drama class this spring will be doing Clue, loosely based off the 1985 movie, the board game itself and a tiny weeny bit off the broadway which apparently was stated as a terrible musical :O

Our drama teacher is truly a genius when it comes to plays, and she decided to set it in the 1920s, which is also known as the Roaring 20s. :D The characters are a little different incase those of you are thinking we're doing it straight from the movie, for we somewhat had to make it tolerable for audience. That means, not much noticable sexual innuendos (ex. 'Yvette and I know each other...personally, right doll? *flips her skirt*) <----non of that. But there are some, you just won't see people pulling skirts like that

Anyway, the difference is that everyone you see in the poster is a pawn in Mr. Boddy's dirty work. He made his living by ripping off everyone's lives and turned it into his fortune, having everyone else hold grudges. Here's the dealio:

:bulletgreen:Mr. Green:bulletgreen: - Mr. Boddy's partner in the bootlegging business, but isn't happy to have a shady partner (member, 1920s, bootlegging back then meant alcohol not pirated movies. There was a prohibition which meant it was illegal to sell alcohol)

:bulletwhite:Mrs. White:bulletwhite: - Mr. Boddy's wife (O_o) only married for the money, and jealous about his affair with Miss Scarlet.

:bulletred:Miss Scarlet:bulletred: - Mr. Boddy's mistress and a flapper girl. Was dumped in the most humiliating way and still holds a grudge to this day. No one dumps Scarlet.

:bulletyellow:Colonel Mustard:bulletyellow: - Mr. Boddy's ex-pal when he was forced to join the army. Mr. Boddy avoided it by shooting himself in the foot (Ow) and is jealous that he stole his love, Mrs. White.

:bulletpurple:Professor Plum:bulletpurple: - An inventor that had his invention stolen by Mr. Boddy.

:bulletblue:Mrs. Peacock:bulletblue: - Half sister of Mr. Boddy. Believes to be the rightful owner of the family's inheritance instead of her brother, mostly due to their childhood. (he was the attention getter while she remained in his shadow)

Now before you all get confused, Mr. Boddy decides to pull a little party requiring everyone to have an alias, including himself. So we know nothing about any of the characters' real names, and the characters themselves have no idea that Mr. Boddy was the one who sent the invitations.

No one actually knows each other (except for Mrs. White and Scarlet, since they'll be having cat fights here and there) and is given the opprotunity to actually 'bump off' Mr. Boddy in a Fun Murder Mystery game with fake weapons and win the grand prize. However, this little game unfortunately turns into a REAL murder mystery for soon, Mr. Boddy wounds up dead. As a doornail. :ohnoes:

We plan to make it very funny, similar to the movie's intentions along with having the audience interacting as well. That's right, you, the audience get to join the fun! During scenes of the show, you will be given clues now and then by Mr. Boddy, having you try to figure out who was the culprit. In a way, think of this as something from Sunset Boulevard where (SPOILERS) the dead guy narrates the story. :tombstone:

Also, all of the characters are straight. Even though we are supporters, we didn't see how Mr. Green being gay would be relevant towards the play and decided not to do the bit. The only reason it worked in the movie was because he was an FBI undercover while this Mr. Green is a member of the mob (hence the zoot suit) and is more of a player. :eyes:

Prof. Plum is also different compared to the one in the movie, for he is not a horndog for women but is actually a very finicky man. Always nervous and somewhat clumsy. Basically we switched Green and Plum's personalities :XD:

And yes Kelsey, I am playing Mrs. Peacock. However, she's not as hysterical and pompus as she was in the movie. The way how I was told, Mrs. Peacock is more haughty, high society, snooty, and a drinks a lot  Do not get confused for she is not the type of drinker that gets all tipsy and drunk. No, the way I see it, I think it's her away of an escape, to calm her nerves of something  But the slapping scene is still in their

Peacock: Oh I need a drink!

Plum: (alarmed) Maybe he was poisoned!

Peacock screams, very loud and long. Mr. Green take her to the sofa.

Green: Calm down. Please just calm yourself!

Scarlet: You're not helping.

Green: PULL YOURSELF TOGETHER WILL YA!

Scarlet: Here, let me :slap:

Everyone: :O

Scarlet: What? I had to stop her from screaming.

Note she doesn't say it like Green did in the movie. Our teacher thought it'd be funnier if a woman did it. :giggle: Oh and Wadsworth and Yvette are also in the story but are not suspects in the murder case. Plus, Yvette stays alive. :)

As for the picture, I ended up making it after showing the teacher the picture that started the inspiration, done by the lovely Nintendo-Nut1 and asked me to see if I could do something similar. With Kels's permission, I was able to use her drawing as reference for body proportions on how I wanted them set. Along with photos of the cast of the play, I was able to draw everyone in the appropriate outfits of the 1920s era.

I can't put all the links I used for reference so I'm just gonna give you the link to the folder I put in my faves sonicandshadowfan15.deviantart… if you see any of your drawings in the folder, I want you to know that I am completely amazed at how many wonderful artists/photographers and want to thank you for the inspiration. I honestly hope you don't mind and give you all the credit you deserve, so for those who didn't draw them, please drop by and give them a bunch of love

I cannot tell you how much work this was will all the layers and touch ups I had to do. I also used brushes to help the murder mystery mood and the result turned out to be stunning. My teacher plans to use this as a poster to draw people in and possibly the DVD cover when recorded.

Even though everything is all cleared up, I would just like you guys to know that I got confused with the terms of use of certain brushes made here. None of my work is going to be used in any sort of commercial way, but if you have any questions about your brushes, you're welcome to note me anytime :) And don't worry, I gave a lot of credit to the brush users when showing the teacher this picture. She was amazed at how people were able to do that :iconteheplz:
